Youth Villages – Dogwood Campus is a residential facility for boys and girls who struggle with mental health and behavioral problems. The team specializes in treating self-harming behaviors and suicidal thoughts, problematic sexual behaviors, extreme aggression, psychotic symptoms, and co-occurring disorders. The facility also provides a special treatment track for substance use disorders. Their intensive treatment program provides close supervision and structure for an integrated care approach.
The Dogwood Campus adopts a trauma-informed approach to understand and address the children’s behaviors with compassion and empathy. Their team uses a variety of treatment methods for a well-rounded approach, including individual and group therapy, family counseling, recreation therapy, and art therapy. Children live with 10-12 peers of similar gender, age, and diagnosis, spending their days together.
The Dogwood Campus is situated on 41 acres in rural Tennessee, creating a serene setting for the treatment and recovery of at-risk youth. The Morris-Wilson Campus School is specially designed to help teach children with emotional and behavioral problems, providing individualized instruction and small class sizes. Speech and language therapy and special education are also provided for those in need. The childrens’ learning is enriched by a modern computer lab and library. Other amenities include a gymnasium, a basketball court, softball field, swimming pool, multiple outdoor playgrounds, and equine therapy. The facility is dedicated to providing young boys and girls with a range of therapeutic activities while also ensuring they have the chance to simply enjoy being kids.
