Woonsocket Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, supports adults age 18 and older who are struggling with opioid addictions. Our center offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT), an evidence-based intervention that can help people withdraw from opioids and maintain lasting recovery. Respected organizations such as the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) recommend MAT for the treatment of opioid addiction. MAT programs provide holistic care by offering prescription medication and counseling as part of an individualized treatment plan. Our outpatient MAT program at Woonsocket CTC offers methadone, a medication that can reduce the distressing symptoms and cravings that may occur with opioid withdrawal. By taking methadone as part of MAT, patients can improve functioning in their daily lives and engage more fully in therapy, which at Woonsocket CTC can include individual and group counseling sessions.
