This is a safe, innovative, and effective treatment for persistent depression that has not responded to typical antidepressant medications or first-line psychotherapy treatments. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation utilizes strong magnetic pulses to regulate activity in precisely targeted brain areas. The patient is awake and alert during the 30-minute sessions, which are scheduled daily Monday through Friday for about 8 weeks.
