For at-risk teenage boys (ages 12 to 18), Petty Creek Ranch is a faith-based behavioral modification and drug misuse treatment facility. Petty Creek Ranch is an inpatient chemical dependency treatment center in Alberton, Montana that is run and maintained by a Catholic family. Their mission is assisting the young people in overcoming their difficulties in order to recover control of their life. Petty Creek provides an opportunity for teen boys to rebuild themselves in a therapeutic setting free from any social or sexual distractions, harmful peer pressure, and drug or alcohol usage.
At Petty Creek Ranch, clients receive conventional addiction treatment as well as academic and vocational/technical instruction, intense family counseling, recovery coaching, and alternative therapeutic approaches including equine-assisted therapy and action-based therapy. Additionally, Petty Creek Ranch’s 12-step program encourages mindfulness, emotional control, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, and is used at Petty Creek Ranch. Additionally, Petty Creek Ranch offers teen males a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy a thrilling yet healthy Montana lifestyle while on the ranch by using a variety of outdoor recreational activities including rafting, skiing, camping, and horseback riding.
Among other things, Petty Creek Ranch assists with academic underachievement, poor social skills, attention-deficit disorder, sibling rivalry and bullying, divorce response, attachment problems, and sexual deviance/promiscuity. Additionally, Petty Creek Ranch employs a trauma-focused clinician who guides EMDR treatment for individuals who have undergone abuse or who struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder. Petty Creek is Joint Commission accredited and does not accept insurance.
