Located close to the beach and Beach Boulevard, Oceans Behavioral Health Biloxi’s outpatient clinic provides outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and day treatment for adolescents and adults for these conditions: anger, anxiety, bipolar, depression, grief, OCD, PTSD, schizophrenia, self-harm, stress, trauma, alcohol and drug addiction, personality disorders, and co-occurring disorders. Their treatment methods include 1-on-1 counseling, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), group therapy, medication management, relapse prevention counseling, relaxation therapy, and 12-Step Facilitation. Oceans Behavioral Hospital Biloxi’s psychiatric staff review progress and medications daily.
Children in kindergarten or later can also participate in day treatment, called Therapeutic Day School.
Biloxi has a large military presence with the Naval Construction Battalion Center, Keesler Air Force Base, and Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital, so Oceans Behavioral Hospital Biloxi offers mental health disorder treatment geared to active-duty military members, veterans, and family members. Challenges they address in their STAR military program include combat stress and long separation from close relationships. Family members participate in group therapy with other military families with similar experiences. To enroll in the STAR program, clients need to provide a referral from the Department of Defense (DoD) or VA.
