Sometimes the symptoms of a behavioral health condition can become so severe that a person can no longer function. When this happens, they may need crisis intervention services to help them feel more stable again. Longleaf Hospital provides inpatient treatment for adults age 18 and older who are suffering from intense symptoms of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We also support people who are struggling with addictions to substances like alcohol, cocaine, and benzodiazepines. Before a person starts any treatment at Longleaf, we evaluate their needs to ensure that hospitalization is right for them. This level of care is usually best for someone who needs round-the-clock support, and it is often a short-term experience because the goal is for the person to step down to a lower level of care or safely return home. While everyone heals at their own pace, the typical length of an inpatient stay at Longleaf is about seven to 10 days depending on each person’s individual progress.
