Medical Wellness Center
Located in the Oakhill Jackson neighborhood on the southeast side of town, Life Connections Cedar Rapids offers outpatient care for children, teens, and adults facing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring challenges. They serve clients as young as 18 months, using age-appropriate therapies in clinics, schools, homes, and online.
Therapists use evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, medication management, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Children with autism can access applied behavior analysis (ABA). The team includes licensed therapists, counselors, and prescribers who focus on stability and long-term support.
A key feature of Life Connections is their focus on helping clients succeed in daily life while in treatment. They offer options in-person or online that support healthy routines, including school-based therapy that helps students manage emotions and stay focused in class. For children with serious emotional disturbances (SED), care is designed to help them remain safely at home.
