Fall River Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers outpatient programming for adults age 18 and older who are seeking recovery from opioid addictions. Opioid addiction is a chronic disease, which means that people must learn how to effectively manage symptoms to remain in recovery. At our treatment center, we provide clinically excellent medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help people learn the coping skills they need to achieve long-term success. Research shows that MAT drastically decreases the risk for relapse. MAT is an evidence-based, whole-person approach to treatment that addresses the mental and physical aspects of opioid addiction. Patients in our MAT program can benefit from taking methadone under the guidance of a professional. When taken as directed, methadone can help people safely complete the withdrawal process by alleviating painful physical symptoms and intense cravings that occur when a person stops using opioids.
