Covington Behavioral Health Hospital, which is located in Covington, Louisiana, provides an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older. Our IOP serves people who have anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or other mental health concerns. A person may step down to our IOP to receive additional support after they have completed our inpatient program, or they can enter directly at the IOP level. This level of care is designed for people who do not need full days of treatment or round-the-clock support. A typical day includes three hours of therapy, plus lunch. Most clients attend IOP sessions two or three days per week. When they are not taking part in IOP sessions, participants may go to school, work, volunteer, and otherwise engage in a healthy independent lifestyle. This schedule allows people to learn new skills they can practice in a real-world environment and improve during future IOP sessions. Typical length of stay is four to 12 weeks.
