Medical Wellness Center
The Christian Children’s Home of Ohio (CCHO), located in Wooster, offers residential care for children and adolescents ages 6 to 18. They serve those who have faced trauma, neglect, or live with guardians struggling with substance abuse. Up to 45 children live together in small cottages by groups, creating a family-like environment.
Their approach includes consistent individual therapy, group sessions, and family therapy to help heal emotional wounds while incorporating Christian values. They also use holistic therapies like music, equine, and animal therapy. These support children’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being in a trauma-informed setting.
CCHO provides care for children who have experienced sexual abuse and domestic violence. They offer family counseling and follow-up services to support healing even after children leave the center. This ongoing aftercare helps families stay strong and ensures lasting progress in a safe, nurturing environment.
