Cumberland Heights is a 12-step based outpatient treatment program for adults with alcohol and substance use disorders. The organization has 15 outpatient facilities across the state of Tennessee, in addition to two 12-step immersion retreats and a residential facility. Founded in 1966, Cumberland Heights is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing each client with personalized care, ensuring that they receive the treatment they need based on their unique needs. They provide intensive outpatient (IOP) services that can accommodate a variety of schedules and needs.
Cumberland Heights employs evidence-based practices to maximize effectiveness, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and 12-step facilitation. They also provide experiential therapies for a well-rounded approach, including adventure therapy, art therapy, relapse prevention, music therapy, recreational therapy, mindfulness and meditation, spiritual care, and yoga. Provided services include private and group counseling, family counseling, assessments, and Telehealth appointments.
Cumberland Heights is the first treatment center in Tennessee to be certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), and is recognized as a national leader in addiction treatment. They are also accredited by the Joint Commission. They are in-network with most major insurance plans, and offer competitive self-pay rates, ensuring that care is more accessible. The Chattanooga location is open for individual intensive outpatient treatment on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6 PM to 9 PM, and family IOP services are available on Tuesday nights from 6 PM to 9 PM.
