About Calm Center
The CALM Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a nonprofit facility offering short-term, 24/7 crisis care for youth ages 10–17 facing emotional, behavioral, or substance-related challenges. Youth may stay for up to seven days, receiving intensive, structured treatment to address their immediate needs. A board-certified psychiatrist, along with licensed nurses, therapists, and life skills coaches, works closely with the youth and their families to identify the root causes of the crisis and create a plan for change.
Access Care for Youth in Crisis
The center provides a wide range of services, including assessment and diagnosis, medically supervised detox, medication management, and therapeutic support such as individual and family therapy, grief recovery, and expressive therapies like art, pet, and music therapy. The CALM Center serves as a bridge between outpatient and inpatient care for youth dealing with crises such as suicidal thoughts, defiant behaviors, or dangerous actions. Care is provided regardless of ability to pay, and no referral is required.
Engage Families and Prepare for Continued Care
While a youth is in care, families are included through educational and support services. This involvement continues throughout the stay to help prepare for the transition back home or to another level of care. Upon discharge, the CALM Center coordinates with families and other providers to develop a follow-up plan that supports ongoing care and stability.
