Honey Lake Clinic’s Hazel’s House is a Christian residential treatment facility for teen girls ages 13-17. They are focused on delivering transformational treatment for anxiety, depression and mood disorders, personality disorders, and more. They do not treat teens who are primarily seeking treatment for substance use disorder, but will treat it as a co-occurring disorder with a primary mental health disorder.
Honey Lake Clinic is the only fully licensed Christian residential behavioral treatment program in the United States. Their residential mental health program has a Christ-centered therapeutic environment, community, curriculum, and structure. Their goal is to re-engage clients with their faith and spirituality to overcome issues that may hold them back from a happy, healthy life. Honey Lake takes a wellness/holistic approach to care and provides evidence-based services, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and more. They also offer equine therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy, and recreational therapy. Honey Lake incorporates Christ-centered and Biblical principles into all the various programming, sessions, and groups they offer.
Understanding the unique emotional and mental health challenges that teens face, Hazel’s House specializes in early intervention and personalized treatment plans to guide teens towards a path of long-term healing and resilience. Each teen’s care plan is led by a board-certified Christian psychiatrist, licensed therapist, and medical, wellness, and spiritual care professionals.
Hazel’s House provides a nurturing, home-like environment on 620 acres of land. Once a luxury southern resort, the campus features rolling hills and comfortable accommodations. The property offers outdoor activities, including swimming, basketball, volleyball, biking, hiking, and riding horses. Their founder, Dr. Karl Benzio, is a Christian psychiatrist who has successfully helped many addiction facilities integrate his faith-informed decision-making curriculum to improve their psychological and medical treatments.
