Medical Wellness Center
The Douglas Young Wellness Recovery Center, situated in San Diego’s Mira Mesa neighborhood, specializes in treating adults aged 18 and older who are dealing with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring substance use disorders. Their comprehensive, community-based services include behavioral health and psychiatric evaluations, medication management, individual and group counseling, peer support, case management, care coordination, mobile outreach, and crisis intervention. Additionally, they offer assistance with education and employment services to support clients’ holistic recovery journeys.
Part of the Community Research Foundation, Douglas Young Wellness Recovery Center takes an integrated, strength-based, culturally competent, and trauma-informed approach to care. They actively involve clients in goal-setting and encourage the participation of family and significant others in the recovery process. Their commitment to accessibility is evident, as they accept Medi-Cal, Medi-Cal/Medicare dual insurance, and uninsured individuals, ensuring that no one is denied services based on inability to pay.
