Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 10th Street Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with opioid use disorder. MAT is a form of outpatient treatment that can help those who have an addiction to heroin, prescription painkillers, or other opioids. Outpatient treatment programs like MAT are flexible and convenient, so adults can get the treatment they need while still working, going to school, or fulfilling other obligations. The medication used in MAT can alleviate the severity of withdrawal symptoms, including cravings, which decreases a person’s chances of using illicit drugs again, getting into legal trouble, or contracting infectious diseases. Along with the use of medication, MAT includes individual and group counseling sessions. This therapeutic component allows adults to address any underlying mental health disorder symptoms or behavioral concerns that may be contributing to their use of opioids.
