Detoxification is the process that helps a person rid their body of the substances they have been abusing. Attempting to go through this process without medical supervision can be dangerous and often painful. At Twelve Oaks Recovery Center in Navarre, Florida, we provide medically supervised detoxification, or detox, services for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions. Clients who participate in the detox program at our facility typically spend three to seven days going through a process that rids the body of alcohol or other drugs while minimizing the discomfort of withdrawal. Our staff of doctors and registered nurses is on hand to observe clients round-the-clock, prioritizing health and comfort levels so that these individuals may progress in their recovery once detox is complete. Some clients may receive a prescribed medication to help them avoid negative effects of withdrawal, and all clients are encouraged to participate in therapeutic programming during detox if they are physically capable of doing so.
